The Humane Society of Utah discounts all animal adoption fees 50% Nov. 20, 2016.

The Humane Society of Utah (HSU) is discounting all animal adoption fees 50% during the ninth annual Hope for the Holidays telethon Nov. 20 from noon to 6 p.m. at the adoption center located at 4242 S. 300 West in Murray. The telethon fundraising event is presented by Subaru of America, Inc. and sponsored by Mountain America Credit Union and Petco Foundation.

“We want our shelter pets to find a new family to spend the holidays with,” said Jenny Castro-Conde, HSU corporate sponsorship and telethon manager. “Even though all of our animals will be discounted 50%, our regular adoption process still applies to ensure adopters understand the commitment involved with bringing a new pet home.

The Humane Society of Utah is a local 501 (c)(3) private nonprofit organization that does not receive any state or federal funding and is not a branch of any national organization. HSU relies solely on the voluntary contributions of individuals, businesses and foundations.

Donations may be made online at utahhumane.org/hope until midnight Nov. 20. Donations made through midnight Nov. 19 will be doubled by a matching grant up to $20,000 from Mountain America Credit Union.

The Hope for the Holidays telethon is the largest annual fundraising event for the Humane Society of Utah.
