Celebrate Romania’s Great Union with a Centennial Festival at Camp K

Celebrate Romania’s Great Union on July 7 with a Centennial Festival at Camp K. An authentic Romanian dinner and social hour from 5:30-6:30 p.m. will be followed by a concert from 7-8:30 p.m. Event admission is free, but tickets are required and can be obtained at www.campk.org/romania.

In 1918, Romanians living across all three historic Principalities made a bold call for unity and proclaimed Romania a modern, democratic, and sovereign nation. Those were the times when United States President Woodrow Wilson declared his Fourteen Points, which laid out a vision of the world free from tyranny and oppression. That vision inspired the Romanian’s call for independence and freedom and guided them through a future of hope and dignity. Those Fourteen Points and the strong mobilization of the Romanian-American communities across the United States not only had a dramatic impact on Romania’s history, but they also cemented a long lasting friendship between Romania and the United States.

This year, 100 years later, we have the unique privilege to honor those who dreamed together, Romanians and Americans, of a just and peaceful world, and to memorialize their friendship.
