All Eyes on the Sky at The County Library’s Solar Eclipse Viewing Parties

Turn around, bright eyes. It’s a total eclipse of the sun! The County Library is offering programs and viewing parties in celebration of the total solar eclipse on August 21. Viewing party locations and times are detailed below:

  • Bingham Creek – 10 am
  • Herriman – 10 am
  • Magna – 10 am
  • Millcreek – 10 am
  • Sandy – 10 am
  • South Jordan – 10 amWest Jordan – 10 am
  • West Jordan – 10 am
  • Riverton – 10:15 am
  • Whitmore at 10:15 am
  • Taylorsville – 10:30 am
  • Holladay – 11 am

In addition to viewing parties on the day of the solar eclipse, the County Library is hosting several solar eclipse programs leading up to August 21. To find solar eclipse programs taking place at the County Library, visit slcolibrary.org/solareclipse. Viewing glasses will be available at various solar eclipse programs, on a first come, first served basis.

Programs and events taking place across the County, as well as basic solar eclipse information, can be found online using #AllEyesOnTheSky and by visiting the Clark Planetarium’s website.

The eclipse will begin at 10:13 am (MST) and will end at 12:59 pm. The Salt Lake County Library advises viewers to never look directly at the sun during a solar eclipse. For information about viewing safety, visit NASA-Eye Safety During Solar Eclipses.
