Find a Four-legged Soulmate at this Weekend’s Super Pet Adoption

Picture this: You’re surrounded by hundreds of adorable dogs, puppies, kittens and bunnies. Tails are wagging, teeny mouths are mewing, furry little noses are twitching. There’s so much hope in the air, it’s palpable. Is this heaven? No, it’s the NKUT (No Kill Utah) Super Adoption, taking place Friday, May 13 from noon-7 p.m. and Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Utah State Fairpark.

During Super Adoptions, shelters and rescue groups come together in one place, with one mission — to find homes for as many pets as possible. This fun-filled, celebratory weekend is a fantastic way to meet tons of adoptable animals without having to run all over town — and an easy way to get your fill of cuteness.

Each participating shelter and rescue group has its own adoption process and sets its own fees. These fees are used to help cover spay/neuter, vaccinations and other costs associated with getting homeless pets ready for their forever homes. Some groups will let you adopt on the spot while others require a home visit.

The Super Adoption is free to attend. The only thing required of you is an open heart and a willingness to give a homeless pet a second chance. If you happen to meet your four-legged soulmate (and with so many pets to choose from, how could you not?), we ask that you have a valid ID and be ready to pay the adoption fee. If you rent your home, a letter from your landlord giving you permission to have a pet will help ensure the adoption goes smoothly.
