Find a New-to-you Halloween Costume at the County Library’s Costume Swap

Take the stress out of finding a Halloween costume at the County Library’s Costume Swap. Participation is easy and open to anyone:

  1. Bring a gently used Halloween costume to any branch of the County Library from October 1–15
  2. Exchange costume for a token
  3. Redeem the token for a new-to-you costume at Whitmore branch on October 19
  4. Take a picture and post to social media using #TheCountyLibrary

If Costume Swappers don’t find a costume they’d like to wear, they can redeem tokens for a $5 fine waiver (non-transferable, one per library card).

“It’s going to be set up to look like a retail store and have that store-buying feel,” Event Coordinator Tayler Allen said. “It’s cool, because this is an opportunity for kids and families to find new costumes and get excited for something they might not have been able to otherwise afford.”

There’s no limit on the number of costumes anyone can donate, and each can be exchanged for a token. All remaining costumes will be donated to charities.
