One Night, Two Historical Events at the County Library

0

The County Library is proud to announce their two upcoming events: What Every American Should Know and the Inauguration of Owl.

The County Library, in collaboration with the Aspen Institute, is hosting an interactive civic discussion about what it means to be an American on January 30, at the Library’s Viridian Event Center. The What Every American Should Know Library Series is designed to bring local dignitaries, policy makers, thought leaders and community members together for one evening to explore local perspectives of how this country can cultivate a sense of shared destiny and common civic purpose. The County Library is one of seven libraries in the nation selected to participate in this unique and timely community dialogue, which will be hosted by Ken Verdoia.

On the same evening, just prior to the community dialogue, Owl (name to be announced at the event) will be officially inaugurated as the County Library’s new mascot. A local celebrity mascot will swear in Owl and live owls will be in attendance. In addition, a flag ceremony will be presented by West Jordan Fire Department’s Honor Guard.

The public is invited to attend both events. Tickets are not required for either event; however, individuals interested in attending What Every American Should Know are encouraged to register online to reserve a spot.
