Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM donated $10,000 to the Live Your Dream Scholarship Foundation on June 10 to help the foundation award 11 more scholarships to single mothers who are widowed or divorced in Utah.

Katie Bunnell, along with her family, created the Live Your Dream Foundation in 2010 to support single, struggling mothers who have aspirations for higher education. Katie’s husband passed away unexpectedly in 2005, leaving her to provide for herself and infant daughter. Katie as a stay­-at-­home-mother and was not in the position to financially provide housing, medical expenses, insurance, car payments, and daily living expenses. She realized that in order to support her family and become self-sufficient she needed to obtain a college degree. Finding childcare and financial support to pursue her dream proved to be difficult. Eventually she received two scholarships. Through determination and hard work she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Integrated studies, with an emphasis in Business and Psychology in a mere 2.5 years. After experiencing the hardships of attending school as a single mother, Katie recognized the need to help other single mothers in her situation.

About the Live Your Dream Foundation

The Live Your Dream Scholarship program has been in operation for five years. Scholarships are awarded throughout the year to low income single mothers who desire to attend any Utah based trade school, college, or university. The value of each scholarship varies: tuition ($2,000), class fee ($1,000), and textbook ($500) scholarships. The number of single mothers the program financially aids is determined by the amount of money raised each year.
