The Little Ones Will Get a Kick Out of This!

One of the greatest things about the game of soccer is that it is so inclusive. To master the game takes time, but to play just requires mobility. This makes for the perfect active birthday party for the little kids and Soccer Shots has the program down.

Soccer Shots is the national program that arrived last September to the Salt Lake area under the leadership of Mark Nicholson. “I’ve been involved in the youth soccer community for the past 3 years. I have coached all ages and I have several U.S. Soccer Federation Coach Licenses. I played soccer growing up competitively and I really enjoy the coaching part if it now. I love soccer!” states Nicholson.

What is Soccer Shots? It is an intro-to-soccer program for ages 2-8. “We not only introduce them to soccer and organized sports, but we focus a lot on motor skills and character development. We work hard to teach them life lessons, such as following rules, listening to coaches, and providing the kids with confidence to be around other kids by learning to share and socialize with each other. Most important aspect of our program is that kids learn new skills and have fun!” explains Nicholson.

For birthday parties, Soccer Shots provides a fun soccer experience, but provides a learning environment as well. Nicholson describes, “We’ll teach them a ‘character word’ they can remember and use in their daily lives. Plus, we’ll teach them how to play soccer and to understand the concept of the game.”

Pricing for parties is very affordable, and the Soccer Shots staff can even bring a “soccer” cake and ice cream to the celebration. Parties are available any day of the week.

Apart from birthday parties, Soccer Shots offers fun classes, including for Mini’s (Ages 2-3), Classic (Ages 3-5), and Premier (Ages 6-8). Essentially, each program varies in skill levels, but are very similar in structure with the introduction of new skills and character lessons each week. Classes range from 30-45 minutes and meet once-a-week. Classes are typically taught on-site at day cares, preschools, childcare facilities, but there are several off-site locations such as community centers.

The Soccer Shots staff make the classes and parties a fun and rewarding experience. “We make sure to give back to the kids — we provide treats after each class, provide prizes, and issue certificates to each kid for acknowledging their participation in our program.
