The Park Silly Sunday Market Celebrates its 10th Anniversary Season on Historic Main Street

The Park Silly Sunday Market, an eco-friendly, open-air market and street festival held on Park City’s Historic Main Street, will celebrate its 10th Anniversary tomorrow, June 5.

Originally conceived by Kimberly Kuehn, CEO and Founder as a funky street fair to serve as a gathering place for the community, the Silly Market has grown steadily and become more ambitious over the years.  In 2015, Park Silly hosted over 188,000 visitors and hopes to see even more people get silly this year.

Kate McChesney, Executive Director of the Park Silly Sunday Market, said “It’s been amazing to see the transformation of the Park Silly Market over the years, the sophistication of our vendors and entertainers has improved dramatically and we’re still having fun and getting sillier every Sunday.”

Michelle McDonald, Director of Operations for the Silly Market said she is “particularly gratified by the number of small businesses that have been incubated by the Market over the last decade.”  Kimberly Kuehn adds, “It’s been a rewarding experience, seeing economic development boom through the Market over the past nine years.  Everyone in Park City and the State of Utah should be proud of being part of the Market’s success.  Together we have taken this grassroots initiative to a place where we are regionally and nationally recognized.”  Some of those businesses include Sammy’s Bistro, Freshie’s Lobster, Red Bicycle Bread Works, My Liquid Garden, Melty Way, Boom Dog Creations  and Soul Poles to name a few.  “We are still accepting applications for the 2016 season at www.parksillysundaymarket.com/apply/vendors-silly-market,” said McDonald.

Anticipate a few surprises for the 10th Anniversary season!  The excitement begins on June 5 at 10 am.
