ZooLights! will be brighter and more sparkling than ever as this festive, family-fun light event returns for its 13th anniversary year. Over 200 lighted animal and holiday-themed displays will glisten in the December night as you make your way throughout Zoo grounds. Enjoy dinner in the Beastro, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or check out our vast array of tasty treats!
NEW THIS YEAR! See 10 life-size, animal-shaped LANTERNS! They are unlike anything you have ever seen and were made specifically for ZooLights at Utah’s Hogle Zoo by Lightasmic of Bakersfield, CA. Zoo members (all levels of membership) receive 50% off any admission, any night, throughout the event.
Nightly Entertainment and Activities
Walk along lit pathways and through our popular 135-foot lighted tunnel – it’s a crowd favorite! Take a spin on the Conservation Carousel (weather permitting) and then stop in to see the Jolly Old Elf at Santa’s Station. S’make a s’more at Oasis Plaza, keep warm with hot chocolate, and you can finish up your holiday shopping at one of the best gift shops around, Wild Zootique!

Family Friendly Early New Year’s Countdown
Get the kids in bed on time while still letting them ring in the new year, with our early countdown at 9 pm at ZooLights! Kids get a noise maker, and can count down to 2020 with our special lighted countdown display. Come early to see all the lights and enjoy the last night of ZooLights. Why not grab dinner in the Beastro beforehand?
