Utah Olympic Oval and KOPFC to Host 5th Annual Friday Night Flicks Film Series

Returning for a fifth season, Friday Night Flicks kicks off on June 3  with a free showing of Dreamworks Kung Fu Panda at Kearns Oquirrh Park. This free outdoor summer movie series is hosted by Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center (KOPFC) and Utah Olympic Oval in association with the Kearns Community Council.

The movie series features two unique viewing locations. Movies will be shown at either the Park Pavilion, located northwest of the Utah Olympic Oval, or Chomper’s Party Cove, located by KOPFC’s outdoor swimming pools – south entrance. Parking is free and available at either Kearns Oquirrh Park or Utah Olympic Oval parking lots. Gates open at 8 pm with movies starting at sundown.

2016 Friday Night Flicks Schedule:

June 3 – Kung Fu Panda 3 at KOPFC
June 10 – Eddie the Eagle at the Oval
June 24 – Star Wars at KOPFC
July 15 – Inside Out at KOPFC
July 29 – The Good Dinosaur at the Oval
August 12 – Zootopia at the Oval

Families are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot and bring blankets and lawn chairs. Food concessions will be available on-site offering snacks and beverages. Outside food is permitted. Restroom facilities will be open at both locations.

“The Fitness Center and Utah Olympic Oval strive to provide free, fun, and safe activities for local families and community members,” said Steve Cook, KOPFC Marketing and Events Manager.

Utah Olympic Oval offers summer public skating sessions, as well as beginner and development sport programs in the sport disciplines of skating, speed skating, ice hockey, and sport fundamentals. The Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center offers public summer swimming with individual daily admission and membership options.
