For the 8th year in a row, hundreds of people in the Salt Lake City area will experience first-hand the power of the movement to end lupus. The Walk to End Lupus Now™ Salt Lake City takes place on April 30th at Liberty Park.
Lupus has no known cause and no known cure, but affects an estimated 1.5 million Americans and 5 million people worldwide. Despite its widespread prevalence, lupus research funding and awareness of its brutal impact remain low. Together, we can change that.

When asked why she walks, Mary Beth, a newly diagnosed Utah resident said, “Being sick for more than 7-years and FINALLY getting diagnosed with lupus in the last year was a relief. I had long sought after answers. I was going to great treatment, hopefully feel better, not have so many days & weeks where I could not move without pain and be stuck in bed, skin lesions on my face, head, nose and mouth. Relief! I walk to bring AWARENESS and the hope for a cure for the millions affected by lupus. I walk for all the people who lose their battle with this cruel and mysterious disease. I walk for my husband, children and grandchildren so that I may have more time on this earth to love them longer.”
