The Library’s Viridian Event Center is bringing back one of Salt Lake County’s favorite family Halloween traditions: Pumpkinpalooza. Featured by the Food Network, this free, two-day celebration centers around all things pumpkin and features the county’s biggest pumpkin-carving contest, a pumpkin pie-eating contest, pumpkin smashing, a costume contest, crafts and activity booths and more.
Friday, October 27, the public is invited to participate in the county’s largest pumpkin-carving contest and a costume contest for teens and adults. Pumpkin carving contest winners will be featured in the Pumpkin Alley jack-o-lantern display and honored at an awards ceremony the same night.
On Saturday, October 28, Pumpkinpaloozians may enjoy pumpkin pie-eating contest, pumpkin arts and crafts, pumpkin smashing, a kids’ costume parade and more than a dozen community partner booths hosting activities.
