Volunteer at Utah’s Favorite Garden This Summer

0

Red Butte Garden is looking for School Programs Volunteers to work with kids (kindergarten – 6th graders) at Red Butte Garden’s Summer Camps and other family events this summer. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community, get outside, meet new people, and teach kids about simple botany and ecology. Volunteers will also learn all about botany and ecology themselves! You don’t need to know it already.

Training for School Programs volunteers is on March 25 and/or March 26, but there will be more trainings for people who can’t make those dates.  Registration is required for training sessions and volunteering. Get started by completing the Volunteer Application available at www.redbuttegarden.org/volunteer-training. For more information, please contact Meghan Eames, Volunteer Coordinator, at 801-585-5688 or email: volunteer@redbutte.utah.edu.

School Programs

School Program Volunteers explore Red Butte Garden’s 100-acre outdoor classroom while sharing their knowledge of plants and animals with children. Volunteers lead weekly two-hour field classes through the Garden for a unique and exciting learning experience that highlights topics found in the science core curriculum of their grade level. Volunteers must be age 20 years or older. School Program volunteers need to be able to comfortably walk/hike the Garden and work in a variety of weather conditions.
